πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’ Here is the gist. I was in ESUT Parklane Teaching Hospital Enugu to submit an application, standing beside me was a beautiful young lady, The beautiful admin  had to attend to her before me and while she was attending to her, I was told to arrange the documents I was with in the format given to me by the hospital. The lady beside me was so nice that she was even helping me arrange the documents I came with while the admin was going through hers, I was so focused on my documents that i nearly missed the conversation.Thank God for my lovely earsπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ and guess what the next thing I heard was you’ve done it before?
I couldn’t comprehend the question being asked by the admin at that point but all i could hear miss nice say was yes and I’m married with kids and theres no money and no job ,she mistakenly submitted a copy of her  Mdcn form that shows she has done her housejob elsewhere together with her main documents  and I looked at her. What shocked me most was when she said everyone is doing it. Is it a big deal?  She repeated it three times .
The beautiful admin just ignored her and I confirmed that Silence is golden. The only thing that disqualified her from submitting her documents  was the fact that she doesn’t have an affidavit to prove that she has never done housejob elsewhere and that was how she went back home.
Its one thing to do wrong and know that its wrong. Its another thing to do wrong and adamantly say its no wrong because others are doing it and I ask.
Is it that easy to lose our conscience  which makes us human in the struggle to get rich?

On a serious note I would have personally Ignored her but what made me tick was her asking me if it was a big deal.

Is it a big deal that some persons have spent months/years looking for housejob?

Is it a big a deal that many have travelled far and wide in search of placement?

Is it a big deal to occupy another’s seat just to please Self?

Thousands are out there struggling to get placement and you are here trying to go for a second missionary journey to get placement. I’m not a doctor but I’m pained. That is a display of gross selfishness. This are the kind of people who are willing to bribe their way in any hospital at any cost just to secure placement at the detriment of others.

Tell me how many unemployed medical graduates can afford  the sum of two hundred thousand naira for housejob space in any of the hospital cause for doctors the price is 200k while other depts are charged 180 thousand naira and below . if not those blockos that do  not want to move on with their life.
Be done with your housejob/Internship and focus on the next phase of your  life. Some departments are even lucky to have many places to undergo their one year training. Some other depts like optometry, dental technology, dental therapy and Dietetics are mostly left in the dark. Some hospitals forget they exist and yet most of the professional bodies keep making one promise or the other. If you are done with housemanship/Internship move on with the next phase of your life.

Stop drawing yourself backward and thanking God for it. This is because no matter how you try to deny it. You are occupying someones Space.

The government /our various licensing bodies is not always wrong sometimes you are what is wrong with the government.  Akogwu Ijeoma
